I had a few padded boxers 15 odd years ago and they were not in the same comfort league as proper cycling shorts. I bought this pair to wear under conventional shorts for a charity event as I did not want to go full lycra and have been seriously impressed. The comfort level is great and they seem well manufactured. I did a hilly 50 mile ride in them and they were on a par with decent lycra shorts.
