Endura will provide all of Movistar Team’s performance clothing and be the official supplier of Movistar Team clothing to retailers globally in a planned three-year deal with anticipated cooperation beyond then.
In the new partnership, Endura will work with Movistar Team in developing the performance apparel used by its riders with almost all of the clothing provided to the Team being produced in Endura’s own production facility in Livingston, Scotland.
The new 2014 Movistar Team clothing is scheduled to be shown for the first time before Christmas.
Movistar Team, based in Egüés near Pamplona in Spain, who finished 2013 at the top of the UCI's WorldTour rankings, have a rich history in road racing and can trace their roots back to an amateur team in the late 1970s which then went on to become the famous Reynolds squad in 1980, before transforming into Movistar Team in 2011.
Over the years, the team has included many legendary riders, including such greats as Pedro Delgado and Miguel Indurain and now boasts a formidable line-up including Grand Tour stage winners Alejandro Valverde, Rui Costa and Nairo Quintana.
The team have recorded hundreds of wins in their illustrious palmares, including 12 overall victories across the three Grand Tour and no fewer than 29 wins so far in 2013. In 2013 the team has recorded four stages in the Giro d'Italia and three in the Tour de France, where Nairo Quintana also took the Mountains and Young Rider classifications, finishing 2nd overall.
