It’s been a weird old year, but hopefully you’ve managed to get some quality riding in over the summer. As we head into September, there’s no denying that the heights of summer have now passed and we’re now descending gently (hopefully) into autumn. Depending where you are, you might be starting to feel the drop in temperatures and seeing a bit more precipitation, so it’s time to have a think about your riding wardrobe.
You don’t have to delve into full winter gear just yet, we have lots of great options that add flexibility to your favourite summer kit. Here’s five superb bits of kit to keep you riding in comfort through late summer and into the season of falling leaves.
FS260 Pro Adrenaline Race Cape – a long term favourite of road and gravel riders, this is a jacket that seems pretty simple, but packs a punch. Lightweight, compact, waterproof and breathable, it’s made from our own ExoShell20ST™ fabric, with built-in stretch for an athletic cut without. Available for men and women - in new colours too.
Pro SL Long Sleeve Jersey – understated in its styling but big on performance and eco credentials. We’ve used a luxurious, supportive, high stretch recycled fabric. The excellent thermal properties provide just the right amount of warmth, whilst maintaining excellent breathability and wicking qualities.
Windchill Glove – Wind is the enemy on the road, Windchill is your protection . We’ve revamped these gloves for 2020 – the same wind beating, softshell construction that adds significant warmth over a summer glove or mitt, but in a more contemporary design.
Warmers – we keep it simple with our warmer range – arms, knees, legs are covered in the Pro SL and FS260-Pro collections. They feature PFC-Free Durable Water Repellent coatings to help shrug off water and feature subtle reflectives when riding in low light. There’s a full zip version of the FS260-Pro Thermo Legwarmer that are ideal for cyclocross racers wanting to keep their muscles supple during warm-ups.
Baselayers – we’re all about the bass(layers) with sleeveless, short sleeve and long sleeve options that have you covered for everything from milder days to proper chilly ones. A good baselayer is the foundation for any technical layering system and is arguably the most important element that can make or break your riding outfit.
