Hold up, before we go any further. Don't even think about using your jeans size. When we say "waist circumference", we mean your actual waist circumference. Not what it says on the label of your favourite pair of chinos.

How to measure
Wrap a tape measure around your natural waist, sitting level all the way round. That’s usually just above your hip bones and below your ribs. Keep it snug but not tight, and don’t hold your breath.
- Measure over light clothing or against the skin for best accuracy.
- No tape measure? Use a piece of string, mark the length, then measure it against a ruler.
